Round 11 we hosted Brunswick at home. We won the toss and decided to bowl. The away team got off to a fast start and taking advantage of a very flat wicket early. Before Jako got the big break through of the in inform Ben Rowles having Brunswick 1/56. Another partnership began to form before Sonny got another breakthrough. As we started to find our way back into the game we slowed the run rate down to be more manageable, Jackson Cooper was batting really nicely though and Lachie ended up taking his wicket for a well played 93. A nice last 10 overs kept us in the game and kept Brunswick to a score of 5/239 from their 45 overs which we thought was probably just under par. Lachie Mckenna the only multiple wicket taker with 2, Jako, Sonny and Harvey with 1 wicket each. A very notable effort with the ball to Ansh Sharma once again in only his second first X1 game bowled 9 overs straight some of which in the power play, for a very very respectable 0/37 from 9 – well done Ansh!!

We got off to a fairly good start with the bat once again , until Taylor was unluckily dismissed on 14. This started a fantastic partnership by Marts and Lachie, As both boys continued their good form. Lachie was dismissed for a really well played 63, having us 2 for 170ish. Jako got another start before being dismissed cheaply for 17, in this time Marts continued to scored and keep the scoreboard ticking over nicely. Declan played a great innings at the back end as we needed a run a ball for the last 10 overs or so, as Dec and marts were guiding us home Jarrod fell agonisingly short of his century being dismissed for a superb 92. Enter Mac shorty “Shorrrrrtttttyyyy” to get us over the line with some fantastic hitting at the end of the innings getting the target of 240 in the 43rd over. Declan ending up 30* and Mac 15*.

A fantastic win with the boys against a very good outfit in Brunswick. Now our attention turns to cross town rivals in Yarraville in a two day game this weekend.
