Laverton won the toss and elected to field.
We had a slow start with our batting, not taking advantage of singles that were on offer. Owen was our top scorer with 25 not out, followed by Xavier Sherrard making 17 and Lennox and Sriram with 10 runs each, contributing to the score. 30 extras were given by Laverton adding to our score, finishing our innings at 7/112 in 22 overs due to poor changeover from Laverton.

When it was our time to defend the score, Sebastian got the ball rolling in his 1st over with a catch from Owen finishing with 2/9 in his two over spell. Xavier Mom got his first wicket and finished his spell of 2 overs 1/7. Xavier Findlay was not lucky with his batting, but this fired him up getting a wicket in his 2 over spell and finished with 1/2. Leo bowled really well in his 2 overs for 4 runs with an excellent run out at mid-off. With the absence of Dylan behind the stumps, Xavier Sherrard took the gloves and did an outstanding job taking a good catch off Sriram’s bowling. Lennox then got a wicket in his 1st over with a good catch by Sebastian at covers. The rest of the boys contributed with the ball, restricting Laverton to 8/50 in 17 overs.

Overall our batting and bowling was good, and we will keep practising and improving in the weeks to come.
