Great team effort to fall short of our first win by only 9 runs. Fielding was awesome — we had two direct run-outs from Ryan and Hunter, and Harrison was brilliant chasing and stopping a couple of certain 4s. Our captain Evan was on his A-game, stopping a ball with his shin that was absolutely smoked off the bat and heading for 4. Great talking out there and getting everyone involved, mate — awesome leadership.

Nate took a great catch and picked up 2 wickets, including a caught-and-bowled. Harrison grabbed 2 wickets as well, and Evan, Hudson, Olivia, Ryan, and Hunter all chipped in with one each.

Our batting is slowly getting better. Harrison, Hunter, and Max all stayed not out for the third week in a row, and everyone else only went out once. It was tough to score again with all the wides, but we just need to turn a few balls into singles and pick the gaps instead of trying to hit every ball for 4 or 6. That was the difference — if we had done that, we would’ve made up the 9 runs we fell short by.
